What is arteriosclerosis?

Arteriosclerosis is the thickening, hardening, and loss of elasticity of the walls of arteries. This buildup is called plaque. In short it is a disease that blocks the wall of arteries, and is often a consequence of aging.

What causes arteriosclerosis according to TCM?
