Key characteristic symptoms of this pattern are the feeling of heat, thirst and dark urine.
Causes & Pathology
Common Causes
Hot climates or environments produce Wind-Heat or Summer-Heat to the body. Over-exposure to there two Pernicious Evils gives rise to Yang Excess.
Long term emotional stress can cause internal Heat such as Heart Fire or Liver Fire. It can develops to Yang Excess.
Over consumption of hot-natured foods such as coffee, alcohol and red meat, fried or greasy foods can give rise to Yang Excess.
Other external pathogenic factors such as Wind or Cold can turn into internal Heat and eventually develops to Yang Excess.
Pathological Mechanism
Yang Excess is a Full Yang state and its symptoms are similar to those are caused by the Heat Pernicious invasion. Yang is associated with Heat, hyper-activity and Dryness. These are the general symptoms when patients have Excess Yang.
The Body Fluids can be "burned off" by the presence of Excessive Yang over time, resulting in the condition of Yin Deficiency or Empty Heat. It causes symptoms such as insomnia or dry throat, mouth and stools. When there is Excess Yang, the body is in a hyper-functional state.
Other symptoms depends more on the specific Organs involved. For instance, Excess Liver Yang can cause migraines, stiffness and soreness, blurred vision and etc. Excess Heart Yang results in manic behavior and extreme restlessness.
