Subtypes: Dacryoadenitis Lymphadenitis
Adenitis is a general term for an inflammation of a gland. Often it is used to refer to lymphadenitis which is the inflammation of a lymph node but it can also refer to other glands (like the lacrimal glands in the case of dacryoadenitis).
There is 1 pattern of disharmony in our database - Phlegm-Fluids above the diaphragm - that is associated with adenitis. TCM sees our body (and mind) as a holistic system in which health issues stem from imbalances, known as "patterns of disharmony". These patterns can manifest in a wide range of symptoms and illnesses, such as adenitis here.
