Wushu GB-27

Chinese: 五枢

Pinyin: Wǔ Shū

Location

In the lateral side of the abdomen, in the front of the anterior superior iliac spine (ASIS), 3 cun below the level of the umbilicus. 

How to locate

First palpate along the upper border of the iliac crest in an anterior and inferior direction so as to identify ASIS (anterior superior iliac spine)

ASIS is a bony ridge on the lateral aspect of the lower abdomen. Wushu GB-27 is in a depression medial and anterior to the ASIS

Main actions

  1. Regulates the Girdle Vessel
  2. Regulates the Lower Burner and removes Stagnation

Needling

Vertically 1–1.5 cun.

Caution during pregnancy.

Commentary for Wushu GB-27

Wushu GB-27 is similar to Daimai GB-26 in function. Both points is able to regulate Girdle Vessel, so as to treat leucorrhoea, menstruation problems or pain in the lower abdomen. 

However, GB-27 is more on treating men with pain (eg: testicle retraction). However, GB-26 is more indicated for gynecological problems.
